Courchevel – snowlearning

It all started in London Gatwick South Terminal Parking were we left our car for 1 week for a very good deal. A quick bus stop to the departures gates and we are ready for the best trip of the year so far !

Got to Grenoble Airport from which we had lovely drive to the resort. It lasted 3 hours but the landscapes were amazing.

The staff went the extra mile for everything & me along with my friend Pavel  could not thank them enough for everything. The first night before dinner we had the manager Rachel speaking about all the information we all needed to have easy access of the area; she lovely went into explaining the internal rules of the hotel for the guests.

We had loads of fun at the Chalet Hotel with the Quiz nights, the apres-ski activities and I have never had such amazing dishes in my entire life. Maybe at that 5* Indian restaurant at Rembrandt Hotel in Bangkok a couple of years back, but the food here was out of this world.

I am a vegetarian, but Pavel isn’t. He loved the duck and the lamb and I loved all  the vegetables.  At dessert I chose many times selections of French cheese. It was an A class holiday and all the guests were very happy indeed with the all services.

Inghams was a very proud used word!

Every day we rented sleighs or luge (as French call them), except for the day that we went to Aqua Motion in the resort where I personally felt like in heaven – 7 different saunas, hydro massage, Jacuzzi massage, salt pool, outdoor pool, water slides, etc. – huge value for money. For 2 people the ticket is 66 euro.

A quite long piste for the sleighs from 1850m to 1550m village. The Lift pass is around 23 euros a day or 61 for the Three Valleys pass. If you just want to try it, every day after 17:00 it is free until 19.30. It is an amazing ride with authentic French mountain landscapes that melt your heart like their cheese does.

Pavel loved it so much that went sleighing everyday. We spend some time on the board as well. Charlie, the assistant manager of Les Anemones, came with us on the Verdons Piste and give us some instructions on how to snowboard. He is a pretty good snowboarder himself and thinks that he will take some lessons to become an instructor and maybe make his hobby into a job.

He was great at showing us the basics and in no time ( like 2 hours ) I’ve finally started to board like I’ve done it for days ! For the last half of my holiday I was on 2 different runs , both green for beginners.

The snow was great, the weather was super sunny, perfect for photos & for natures walks ! Many choices for all types of skiers and snowboarders.

What made this holiday amazing ? The staff from the Chalet Hotel Les Anemones, the landscapes, snowboarding, mountains, snow, nightlife, (a yeah … I forgot to say that I’ve been out in Courchevel 1650m a couple of nights and it is a manic nightlife ! Young, old, everybody has fun with live bands and drinks all night long ! Free buses go up until 01.25 A.M. from 1650m to 1850m where you can continue the party in the Forum !), people in Courchevel,  the French cuisine, the wine etc.

An amazing experience that I hope to repeat very soon !
